YOM Institute of Economic Development (YOM) and Asossa Environmental Protection Association (AEPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Addis Ababa today 30th August 2017 to establish an institutional framework for their future partnership in the areas of Research, Consultancy, Capacity Building, and Training.

The MoU was signed by the Managing Director of YOM, Dr. Melkamu Tadesse and Executive Director of AEPA, Ato Mengistu Bayisa. Other officials, Experts, and stakeholders were present at the signing ceremony.

The key rationales of the MoU are promotion of exchanges of knowledge and experience in the field of Project Planning and Management, Natural Resource Management, and Development at large with the view to strengthening the administration and management of projects, researches, exchange of information, expertise, and technical know-how. Training of personnel and development of human resources, and organizational development and capacity building are also included. The two parties agreed to work together focusing on larger, longer term projects of mutual interest. 

Dr. Melkamu Tadesse, the Managing Director, in his address to the audience, expressed confidence that the MoU would pave the way for an effective partnership between the two organizations and benefit other stakeholders and the community at the grassroots level. Ato Mengistu Bayisa, the AEPA Executive Director, on his part stated his belief that the MoU would facilitate sharing of best practices, skills, and experiences between the two parties.
