SPANISH FORK, Utah — Diane Garcia is proud to live on a farm that’s more than a hundred years old, and happy to share it’s delight’s with others.

Each summer, typically in June, fireflies emerge from the tall grasses at Thompson Century Farms and begin lighting up the night as they look for mates.

Garcia provides free tours to as many people as she can (group sizes are limited) during the magical season which lasts for roughly a month.

But she is concerned about the future of the fireflies. Development is happening all around her ranch, changing the landscape, and adding to light pollution.

Diane Garcia was nominated for a Dream Team surprise by her daughter, Stephanie.

Watch the video to see what happened.

You can also learn more about fireflies, and how to cut down on light pollution, on Diane Garcia’s Facebook page.

If you know someone who could use a visit from the Dream Team, fill out the nomination form here. Tell us the story of the person you are nominating, as it might be told on TV, and suggest a gift that could make a difference in their life.
