Adam joined FOX 13 News in March 2019 and helped launch the FOX 13 Investigates team in 2020.
He focuses on large-scale investigations that increase transparency and accountability in Utah. His role at the station is to identify and investigate impactful stories that provide essential journalism to the community.
Since moving to Utah, Adam's reporting has:
- created new state laws
- changed government policies
- removed officials from powerful positions
He has been recognized as a steadfast defender of the First Amendment, receiving the Roy B. Gibson Freedom of Information Award in 2020 from the Society of Professional Journalists. His reporting often exposes government abuse of freedom of information laws, protecting access to public records and meetings.
Adam has won an Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative journalism and nine Emmy Awards. He has also won two Golden Mike Awards and has been nominated for 23 Emmy Awards in total.
In 2021, the Society of Professional Journalists named him the "Best TV Reporter" in Utah.
Adam has broken a number of large stories in Utah, including the arrest of the "Clearfield Rapist." His subsequent investigation led to an exclusive interview in which the cold-case suspect also confessed to multiple homicides. Adam's reporting also revealed the suspect was inexplicably allowed to leave death row in the 1970s, prior to committing crimes in Utah.
Adam's extensive reporting on the search for two missing children and their "cult" parents in Rexburg, Idaho has been showcased to a national audience through multiple documentaries.
While working in Las Vegas, Adam was recognized for his investigations into the Las Vegas mass shooting at Mandalay Bay, the NV OSHA system, and officers within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
One of his biggest stories led directly to the arrest and conviction of a fake doctor in California who practiced without a medical license for years and dumped vials of patient blood in the backyard.
Another story allowed Adam to advocate for a veteran who was not receiving the benefits he deserved from the VA. After the veteran spent years battling the system, Adam’s reporting helped him get tens of thousands of dollars owed to him by the government.
Adam was raised in Orange County, California and graduated from Chapman University with a degree in television and broadcast journalism. He worked in the hot deserts of Bakersfield, Palm Springs, and Las Vegas before moving to Utah.
When he’s not out telling stories, Adam is trying new restaurants or simply enjoying the outdoors. He is a proud Eagle Scout and long-suffering Philadelphia Eagles fan.
